Frederick “Rick” Lorenzen was born in 1941 in Long Beach, California and raised in Wilmington, California.  Rick attended Banning High School where he excelled at the sport of tennis.

In 1961, Rick joined his father as a partner of Price Transfer.  The company was primarily a trucking business hauling passenger’s baggage to and from steamship and cruise ships and delivering all over the Southern California area.  They worked out of their garage  until 1973 when they leased a small warehouse facility and expanded into warehousing and storage.  From its humble beginnings with one truck, Price Transfer morphed into a market leader.  Upon the passing of his Father in 1974, Price Transfer was incorporated and Rick became President and CEO of the company.

In 1985, Rick expanded the business by pioneering the first U.S. Customs Examination Site (CES) when the CES program was first introduced into the Ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles.  Along with Customs & Border Protection (CBP) Bonded Warehousing, Storage & Transportation, Price Transfer still remains the oldest and most continuous CBP CES in the United States.

Rick has been very active in numerous industry organizations such as Los Angeles Custom Brokers & Freight Forwarders Association (LACBFFA), Foreign Trade Association (FTA), Harbor Truckers Association (HTA), Women in International Trade of Los Angeles & Orange County (WIT-LA, WIT-OC), Harbor Transportation Club (HTA) and Propeller Club over the years.  Rick is also a continued supporter of the Ronald McDonald House, Boys & Girls Club of Carson, Honoring our Fallen as well as other community events/projects.

Rick’s ongoing innovation, dedication, and contribution’s continue to greatly impact and service our trade community.
