Monex Chief Economist John Min, Phd. will present an engaging and informative economic overview on the US economy as we end Q3 2022 and where we are headed in 2023. Dr. Min recently presented at the NCBFAA national conference in Tucson, to very positive reviews, and will provide an update on key metrics impacting the US and global economy. Following Dr. Min’s overview, Andrew Woelflein, Chief Strategy Officer at Monex, will provide an overview of foreign currency and cross-border payments and how they impact freight forwarders and custom brokers and their clients. Andrew will also outline how freight forwarders and custom brokers can further monetize existing clients who have international transactions.

John Min, Chief Economist & Managing Director
Dr. John Min teaches economics and is the Chief Economist with Monex USA where he is responsible for working with corporate clients in mitigating and managing their FX risks. Prior to working with Monex, John was Founder and Chief Economist for World First USA and worked as the VP of Sales for Ruesch International, an international financial institution based in Washington, DC. Throughout his career, John has also worked with companies such as JP Morgan Chase, Everbank, Management Concepts, Western Union, AFEX, and Ebury. John teaches economics at Northern Virginia Community College. He earned his MBA from George Washington University and Doctorate in Economics from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.
Andrew Woelflein, Chief Strategy Officer
Andrew Woelflein is the Chief Strategy Officer at Monex USA. In this role he has developed and implemented a strategy involving international and domestic expansion, new product development, and joint ventures. He currently focuses on new Partner channels to integrate Monex technology through Co-branding the Monex FX platform and API integrations. He was also the Chief Compliance Officer from 2007-2013 responsible for the firm’s national licensing programming and anti-money laundering compliance program. Before joining Monex, Andrew was the Vice President of Global Marketing and Product Management at Ruesch International (now Western Union). Andrew was a Vice President at Bankers Trust based in London and New York from 1994 to 2000 focusing on trade finance, FX and cross-border payments. He launched his international career at American Express Bank in New York where he managed correspondent bank clients in France, the Benelux, and Switzerland. He holds a BA from Brown University and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
