As things are reaching a critical level of congestion in San Pedro Bay not seen since the lockouts of the early 2000s, PMA President James McKenna brought home the cost of the pandemic in a speech to the Propeller Club of Northern California earlier this week. McKenna shared that in the ILWU community there have been 13 longshoremen who have died from COVID-19 and there are currently 855 positive cases, half of them since the beginning of January.
