The issue of greenhouse gas and shipping is one as old as container shipping itself. The climate crisis isn’t going to be solved by individual cities, states, or countries. It requires a collaborative global effort. Considering the challenges associated with finding a unified voice on any issue, it is a pleasure to see the ports of Los Angeles and Shanghai, along with shipping lines and cargo owners, committed to delivering a plan by the end of this year to make it a green shipping corridor.
